NVIDIA and Deutsche Telekom have announced plans to build the world’s first industrial AI cloud for European manufacturers, located in Germany. This initiative aims to establish an AI Gigafactory, enhancing Germany’s position as a hub for industrial innovation through rapid AI implementation. The completion of this infrastructure is targeted by 2026.
“Europe’s technological future needs a sprint, not a stroll. We must seize the opportunities of artificial intelligence now, revolutionize our industry and secure a leading position in the global technology competition. Our economic success depends on quick decisions and collaborative innovations,” stated Timotheus Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom AG.
Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, commented, “In the era of AI, every manufacturer needs two factories: one for making things, and one for creating the intelligence that powers them. By building Europe’s first industrial AI infrastructure, we’re enabling the region’s leading industrial companies to advance simulation-first, AI-driven manufacturing.”
The German-based AI factory will support industrial workloads with 10,000 GPUs provided by NVIDIA DGX B200 systems and RTX Pro Servers. These systems will run NVIDIA CUDA-X, RTX, and Omniverse accelerated workloads from top software vendors. Deutsche Telekom will ensure secure infrastructure management covering data centers, operations, sales, security, and AI solutions while adhering to European data protection standards.
Deutsche Telekom is also offering NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core processors for rent via the Open Telekom Cloud.
