SAP SE has announced that Team Liquid, a prominent organization in competitive gaming, is utilizing Joule Agents to access game statistics, player performance trends, and strategic comparisons through natural language. This approach differs from traditional AI models by allowing AI agents to perceive their environment, set goals, and autonomously take actions to achieve those objectives.

Team Liquid’s data analysis is conducted via the “Next Level Esports Center” dashboard, which is built on the SAP Business Technology Platform. The dashboard provides coaches and players with insights about upcoming opponents and helps manage high-pressure situations with frequent data requests between games.

Players, coaches, and marketing teams can now use the Joule copilot for insights into players or teams by accessing over 1.6 TB of data from 10 million games. This change eliminates manual data retrieval and empowers users to make data-driven decisions quickly.

Victor Goossens, co-CEO and founder of Team Liquid, stated: “Thanks to the Joule copilot and Joule Agents, what once took hours of manual work is now available instantly, driving our strategies and enhancing team performance.” He emphasized that this partnership demonstrates how AI and data integration are crucial for game preparation and success in esports.

The integration of SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud solution provides Team Liquid with a scalable data infrastructure for fast insights. Joule allows instant access to critical information such as game statistics and player performance trends.

AI-powered chat agents offer several advantages:

– Faster data access enables real-time decision-making across various departments.
– Users can intuitively access insights regardless of their technical knowledge.
– Real-time data comparisons facilitate precise decisions for a competitive edge.
– Proactive pattern recognition uncovers patterns in large datasets not easily found manually.

Philipp Herzig, chief technology officer and chief AI officer at SAP, commented: “Team Liquid’s use of Joule Agents is a compelling example of how AI can reduce the workload on analysts… enabling smarter, faster decision-making.”
