STARLUX Airlines, based in Taiwan, has received its first Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The airline is now the 11th operator worldwide of this model, which is the largest version in the A350 family. This delivery marks a significant addition to STARLUX’s existing fleet, which already includes ten A350-900s used on long-haul routes from Taipei to Europe, North America, and select destinations across Asia-Pacific.
The airline introduced a new livery for the A350-1000 that features signature visual elements and a carbon-fibre motif. The design also includes a large ‘1000’ marking on the fuselage to signify the aircraft’s status as STARLUX’s flagship and highlight its position as Airbus’ largest in-production model.
STARLUX operates an all-Airbus fleet consisting of A321neo, A330-900, and A350-900 aircraft. With this delivery, STARLUX aims to enhance its current operations and expand future services. In addition to passenger planes, STARLUX has ordered ten A350F freighters as part of plans to grow its cargo network.
The Airbus A350 is recognized for its modern widebody design and technological advancements that improve efficiency and comfort on intercontinental flights. According to Airbus, “Its new generation engines and use of lightweight materials bring a 25 per cent advantage in fuel burn, operating costs and carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions, compared to previous generation competitor aircraft.” The cabin offers wide seats, high ceilings, and ambient lighting designed for passenger comfort.
All Airbus A350 models are capable of flying with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with Airbus targeting full SAF capability by 2030.
As of November 2025, nearly 1,500 orders for the A350 had been placed by 66 customers globally.
