Airbus Helicopters and SKYCO International Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. have entered into a contract for six additional offshore transport H175 helicopters. This new order builds on the initial six H175s ordered by SKYCO in early 2024 for missions related to Guangdong Emergency Management and Public Service.
The agreement strengthens the strategic cooperation between Airbus Helicopters and Guangdong Province, aiming to promote regional development in general aviation and low-altitude economy. The initiative is supported by SKYCO and China Southern Airlines General Aviation Company Limited (CSAGA).
The newly purchased helicopters will be leased and operated by CSAGA, one of China’s leading helicopter operators, to address the needs of China’s offshore energy market. This development marks another milestone for the H175 in this sector.
“We are proud of our ongoing partnership with Guangdong Province and we thank SKYCO for their purchase of these additional six H175 helicopters, which reflects our joint commitment to fostering the development of the helicopter industry in Guangdong,” said Colin James, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in China. “The H175 helicopter is a state-of-the-art product that performs a wide variety of helicopter missions around the world, and will strongly enhance CSAGA’s operations with its unparalleled performance, efficiency and reliability.”
Since entering service in 2014, Airbus’ H175 has been part of the super-medium class of helicopters known for combining long-range capabilities with smooth flight qualities. It serves various mission profiles including disaster relief, search and rescue, public services, crew change operations as well as private business aviation. To date, 71 H175s have been delivered globally accumulating over 250,000 flight hours.
