Siemens has received a Platinum medal and its highest-ever score in the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating, earning 85 points in the latest assessment. The rating evaluates companies across several areas: Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement. Siemens Mobility was assessed separately and achieved a score of 84 points.

According to the company, over 90 percent of Siemens’ business activities help customers achieve sustainability goals in areas such as decarbonization and energy efficiency, resource efficiency and circularity, as well as people centricity and societal impact.

“Achieving the highest-ever score and being among the top one percent of all rated companies reinforces our position as a sustainability leader and recognizes the dedication of our people,” said Eva Riesenhuber, Global Head of Sustainability at Siemens. “Sustainability is at the core of our business, and we are continuing to scale our impact in the areas of industry, infrastructure and mobility, while empowering our customers to become more competitive, more resilient and more sustainable.”

Andreas Mehlhorn, Head of Sustainability at Siemens Mobility added: “Being awarded the EcoVadis Platinum medal once again is a strong testament to our leading position in the rail industry. It reflects our commitment to integrating sustainable solutions for our customers by maintaining rigorous sustainability standards across our operations and supply chain.”

The EcoVadis sustainability rating uses international standards such as those from the United Nations Global Compact’s Ten Principles, International Labour Organization conventions, Global Reporting Initiative standards, and ISO 26000 guidelines.
