As of January 1, 2026, new tariffs for natural gas distribution services provided by JSC “Gaso” have come into effect following approval by the Public Utilities Commission Board on November 27, 2025. The revised tariff structure includes both a fixed component based on the permitted or declared connection load and a variable component linked to the volume of natural gas supplied.

The fixed fee is determined by the permitted load of each connected facility and is charged monthly regardless of consumption levels. The permitted load can be found on the meter (Qmax). Starting in 2026, users with a connection load from 0 to 6 m³/h will be split into two categories: up to 4 m³/h and from 4.1 m³/h to 6 m³/h. This adjustment aims to align tariffs more closely with actual consumption patterns.

Under the new structure, the fixed monthly payment for households with a permitted load up to 4 m³/h has increased to €6.00 (excluding VAT), while those between 4.1 m³/h and 6 m³/h now pay €9.00 per month (excluding VAT). For other users with loads above 6 m³/h, there is an average increase of about 14% in fixed fees.

The variable part of the tariff is based on annual natural gas consumption, which determines each object’s tariff group. The calculation uses an average calorific value of 10.538 kWh/m³ for conversion purposes; however, billing reflects the specific month’s calorific value within its heat zone.

A notable change is that variable tariff payments have decreased for all user groups compared to previous rates, though reductions vary depending on individual consumption volumes.

According to JSC “Gaso,” “The reduction differs for each user group and depends on the volume of natural gas consumed.”

Distribution operator Gaso’s services represent only one portion of total household gas bills. Households are also charged for transmission services, excise duty, value-added tax (VAT), and pay a price for natural gas that fluctuates according to global market conditions tied to European gas exchange indexes.
