The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India and Prosus have announced a partnership for the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026. The summit is scheduled to take place on February 19–20, 2026, in New Delhi.
As part of this collaboration, Prosus will organize a pre-summit event titled “AI for All: Catalysing Jobs, Growth, and Opportunity.” This event aims to examine how artificial intelligence can contribute to job creation, economic growth, and social change throughout India.
The summit was first announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit. It will be the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South. MeitY and Prosus intend to use this initiative to shift discussions about AI from concerns over job loss toward themes of opportunity creation and increased participation in the digital economy.
Abhishek Singh, CEO of India AI Mission and Additional Secretary at MeitY, stated: “This partnership with Prosus reflects our shared vision of advancing India’s AI Mission—where technology becomes a catalyst for inclusive growth and opportunity creation. The India AI Impact Summit 2026 will be a platform to demonstrate how AI can be harnessed to drive jobs, innovation, and digital empowerment at scale. Through this collaboration, we aim to make India a global leader in developing and deploying human-centric AI that benefits every section of society.”
Rentala Chandrashekhar, Chief Mentor for the AI for All Project and Chairman at Centre for the Digital Future said: “The ‘AI for All’ initiative comes at a defining moment for India’s digital economy. As AI becomes a transformative force across sectors, our goal is to ensure it strengthens, not sidelines, human capability and opportunity. This partnership between MeitY and Prosus is a strong example of how public and private sectors can co-create the frameworks needed for responsible innovation. By focusing on jobs, skills, and inclusion, we are setting the foundation for an AI ecosystem that works for every Indian. The real success of AI will not be measured in algorithms, but in the new possibilities it creates for people and communities.”
Sehraj Singh, Managing Director and Group Vice President at Prosus India added: “AI represents one of the most transformative shifts in our lifetime, and India is uniquely placed to lead this transformation. Through this partnership with MeitY, we aim to spotlight India’s strength in human capital, entrepreneurship, and innovation. AI for All reflects our belief that every advancement in AI should translate into jobs, growth, and tangible opportunities for people.”
The initiative includes five high-level roundtables organized with MeitY’s support. These sessions will bring together government officials as well as leaders from industry startups and academia to discuss employment opportunities related to artificial intelligence across major economic sectors in India.
The series—called “Amrit Manthan”—will cover topics such as healthcare (Amrit Arogya), agriculture (Amrit Krishi), education (Amrit Vidya), industry (Amrit Udyog), finance (Amrit Niti), among others. Each roundtable aims to generate practical recommendations that will form part of an “AI for All” White Paper presented during the main summit.
MeitY serves as India’s primary agency responsible for shaping policies related to electronics development as well as IT sector regulation within the country.
