Ignitis Renewables has launched an educational initiative in Palanga, offering a month-long opportunity for visitors to explore wind energy through interactive activities. This event is taking place next to Jūratė and Kastytis Square on J. Basanavičiaus Street from June 15 to July 13.

The education space was inaugurated on June 15, coinciding with Global Wind Day, which featured a festival filled with various activities and concluded with a performance by DJ Jovani on the Palanga bridge. Vaiva Rutkauskaitė, Head of #EnergySmartSTART Education Programmes, expressed the goal of making renewable energy an engaging topic: “We wish to show people that renewable energy as much an inspiring and creative topic as it is a solution for the future because here everyone can discover it.”

During the Palanga Wind Festival, attendees experienced numerous wind-related activities including yacht regattas, kiteboarding lessons, and extreme sports demonstrations by athlete Nick Jacobsen. The Ignitis Renewables education space offered exhibits from the Energy and Technology Museum such as a Tesla coil and a Van de Graaff generator.

The education space continues to welcome visitors daily until July 13, from 2 pm to 9 pm. Special activities are scheduled every Saturday; kite workshops will be held on June 28 and July 12, while electric bicycle demonstrations are set for June 21 and July 5.

Visitors can also engage in other educational experiences like virtual reality tours of wind turbines and learning facts about renewable energy through rotating displays. The initiative aims to foster understanding of electricity generation and sustainable living among all age groups.
