Ignitis Group has partnered with VILNIUS TECH Lithuanian Maritime Academy (LAJM) to enhance the training of marine energy specialists. This collaboration involves the establishment of a new study program and a competence center aimed at training offshore wind turbine engineers.

Darius Maikštėnas, CEO of Ignitis Group, emphasized the importance of marine energy in the energy sector, stating, “We actively cooperate with educational institutions, businesses and municipalities to grow an ecosystem that will bring long-term benefits to Lithuania.”

In response to market changes, LAJM has introduced a study program titled ‘Offshore wind turbine engineering.’ This initiative aims to prepare specialists who will contribute to national energy security. The competence center is expected to ensure high-quality training for offshore specialists and meet market demands.

Student admissions for this program began on June 1st, coinciding with the general admission period for higher education institutions. Initially taught in Lithuanian, the program will later be offered in English. The mathematics exam holds significant weight in the admission process.
