AB “Ignitis grupė” has announced the candidates selected for its new Management Board, which will serve a four-year term beginning on 26 March 2026. The Supervisory Board chose five members, including four current board members and one newcomer with experience in the energy sector. This decision is intended to provide continuity for the Group’s ongoing strategy.
The new Management Board will include Darius Maikštėnas as Chair and CEO, a position he has held since 2018. Under his leadership, Ignitis Group transformed from “Lietuvos energija” into the largest listed company in the Baltic States. The company also completed a major initial public offering (IPO) that brought significant investment into Lithuania. During Maikštėnas’ tenure, financial results doubled and the portfolio of renewable energy projects tripled.
Jonas Rimavičius was reappointed as Group Chief Financial Officer. Since joining in 2016, Rimavičius has overseen key strategic initiatives such as a successful IPO and several green bond issuances that support long-term growth across the Baltics and Poland.
Dr. Živilė Skibarkienė remains responsible for organisational development, digitalisation, people strategy, and corporate support functions. She joined Ignitis Group in 2018 and led efforts that earned it “Top Employer” recognition five times.
Mantas Mikalajūnas continues as Chief Regulatory Officer overseeing regulated business activities, government relations, health and safety, and resilience planning. He brings nearly two decades of experience from Lithuania’s gas and electricity sectors.
Vytenis Koryzna joins as a new member with more than ten years’ experience in renewable energy management. Previously CEO at Detra Solar and Enefit Lithuania, Koryzna expanded market presence for both companies and introduced innovative solutions for clients.
Alfonso Faubel, Chair of the Supervisory Board of Ignitis Group stated: “I would like to sincerely congratulate the selected candidates for the new term Management Board of the Group. The Supervisory Board, with a relatively short selection deadline, pursued the highest priority to finding the best candidates who would ensure the continuity of the Group’s present activities and the successful implementation of important strategic initiatives. I believe that until the end of his second term as CEO, D. Maikštėnas will continue to successfully execute the initiatives that are important for Lithuania and the entire region, especially in the areas of renewable energy, grid resilience, innovation and AI development. The current members of the Group’s Management Board, who have been re-elected for a new term of office will continue to contribute to the implementation of ongoing and initiating new strategic initiatives, while the new member of the Management Board will bring new energy and dynamism to the team”.
The selection process began on 11 December 2025 when applications were invited until 5 January 2026. An external executive recruitment agency conducted assessments before shortlisted candidates were interviewed by members of Ignitis Group’s Supervisory Board.
According to Lithuanian law governing state-owned enterprises’ corporate governance guidelines, CEOs can serve no more than two consecutive terms; Darius Maikštėnas’ second term concludes on 28 February 2027.
