Dovilė Morkvėnaitė, Head of Wholesale Electricity at Ignitis, has joined the Customer Advisory Board of Nord Pool, a leading European wholesale power market. She is currently the only representative from Lithuania and one of two women on the 13-member board.
In her new role, Morkvėnaitė will advocate for the Baltic region by raising relevant topics and offering recommendations to Nord Pool. Her aim is to help improve market processes, enhance the experience of market participants, and increase overall efficiency.
“When I received the invitation to join the advisory board, I didn’t hesitate for a moment. This is a unique opportunity to present the Baltic region’s expertise and voice its needs in high-level discussions. It is also an opportunity to share the energy-related knowledge I accumulated and, together with experts from other countries, look for ways to strengthen market reliability,” said Morkvėnaitė.
With more than 15 years in the energy sector, she began as an electricity trading analyst. Currently, she leads a team responsible for electricity portfolio management, wholesale pricing, financial trading, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and sustainability solutions.
“Professionalism, a deep understanding of the market and the ability to mobilise the team for a common goal are the fundamental values that guide my work. I believe that competence, not other factors, is the key to success in creating a reliable and efficient energy market,” added Morkvėnaitė.
