EDP and its subsidiary EDP Renewables have been recognized as Top Employer 2026, a certification awarded by the Top Employers Institute. This marks the ninth consecutive year that EDP has received this distinction, which evaluates companies based on their people management practices.
The certification process reviewed about 250 practices across 20 dimensions of employee experience. According to EDP, the company achieved its highest scores in organization and change, HR digitalization, and ethics and integrity. Other areas where EDP stood out include performance culture, development opportunities, purpose-driven work, and sustainability initiatives.
This year’s recognition also expanded to include Germany for EDP Renewables, bringing the total number of certified markets to twelve. The company is present in Europe, North America, South America, and Asia-Pacific. For EDP Renewables specifically, the Top Employer certification now covers Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Brazil, Chile, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Germany.
Some of the company’s highlighted practices include a global alumni network for former employees; transparent communication regarding compensation and benefits; a marketplace for internal mobility opportunities; and efforts to integrate artificial intelligence tools into operations.
EDP stated that these results “reflect the company’s commitment to promoting an agile, balanced and development-oriented work environment for its employees.” The Top Employers Institute has more than three decades of experience certifying organizations worldwide for best practices in people management.
Since first being certified by the Top Employers Institute in 2018,EDP has extended this recognition to new countries each year. The group says it uses feedback from this process to improve employee experiences and support its workforce in contributing to energy transition goals.
