Deutsche Telekom has announced a new partnership with NVIDIA to offer an enhanced mobile cloud gaming experience through its 5G+ network. The announcement was made at Gamescom 2025, where the companies revealed that starting in autumn 2025, users will be able to access NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW platform on their smartphones with improved stability and low latency.

The collaboration will leverage Deutsche Telekom’s standalone 5G+ network, which uses technologies such as L4S (Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput) and network slicing. These features are designed to optimize response times for cloud gaming and ensure smooth gameplay even during periods of high network demand.

Phil Eisler, Vice President of GeForce NOW at NVIDIA, said: “GeForce NOW delivers great gaming experiences with low latency and high-fidelity visuals. With Telekom’s new 5G+ gaming offering, we’re taking mobile cloud gaming to the next level – enabling millions of players to enjoy premium games on their smartphones, with less jitter and gameplay that feels closer than ever to a local gaming console.”

Wolfgang Metze, Head of Consumer Business at Telekom Deutschland, added: “Cloud gaming needs fast reactions and zero interruptions – every millisecond counts and can mean the difference between victory and defeat. With 5G+ Gaming in Germany’s largest 5G+ network, players can enjoy high-performance, seamless gameplay on the go via the GeForce NOW platform – featuring a top-tier selection of over 2,300 supported titles. No downloads, no lag. Together with NVIDIA, we’re delivering the best gaming experience on the best network – anytime, anywhere.”

From autumn 2025 onward, Deutsche Telekom customers with compatible devices—such as Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra or S25 series phones—and current MagentaMobil plans (from August 2024) will be able to book the free 5G+ Gaming Option via the MeinMagenta App or Telekom website. The company plans to add more compatible devices over time.

GeForce NOW allows users to stream games from digital stores including Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass, Battle.net, EA, and Ubisoft Connect. In September 2025, it will upgrade its infrastructure with NVIDIA Blackwell architecture for better graphics quality and responsiveness. The service supports more than 2,300 game titles currently available for streaming directly from the cloud and is expected to add another 2,500 Install-to-Play titles in September.

Members can access their existing game libraries without downloads or updates; progress is synchronized across devices using cloud saves. To use Deutsche Telekom’s low-latency option on GeForce NOW’s Android app requires a day pass costing €4.39 for Performance membership or €8.79 for Ultimate membership.

Deutsche Telekom’s implementation uses its standalone 5G network capabilities such as “network slicing,” which divides resources into virtual segments optimized for specific needs like short response times crucial for cloud gaming.

The operator launched latency-optimized mobile cloud gaming in autumn 2024 using consumer-facing 5G network slicing, making it available wherever its extensive nationwide coverage reaches—over 98% of Germany’s population. This positions Deutsche Telekom as both Germany’s leading operator in terms of reach and among Europe’s top-tier providers.

Smartphones continue to be Germany’s most popular platform for gamers; according to data from the German Games Industry Association in its 2024 annual report, around 24.6 million people play mobile games nationwide on either smartphones or tablets.

Deutsche Telekom continues investing billions annually into expanding its networks across Europe.
