Deutsche Telekom has announced the launch of new MagentaZuhause Hybrid plans, offering combined fixed-line and mobile internet speeds of up to 500 Mbps for downloads and 50 Mbps for uploads. The new hybrid solutions will be available from August 1, providing customers with faster and more reliable internet connections, even in areas without fiber-optic infrastructure.

The hybrid technology uses both the fixed network and the mobile network. When higher speeds are needed, such as during streaming or gaming by multiple users at home, the router automatically supplements bandwidth using the mobile network. This approach also helps maintain connectivity during landline outages by switching to the mobile network.

To access these services, customers will need a Speedport Smart 4 router and a weatherproof 5G receiver that can be installed on an exterior façade or window. The receiver connects to the router via a flat cable through a window frame. Installation can be performed by customers themselves or through Deutsche Telekom’s installation service for an additional fee. The hardware supports both 5G and traditional 4G/LTE networks.

“Hybrid also offers more speed in the home office. The combination of two networks also makes Internet outages almost impossible: If the landline is impaired, you automatically continue to surf and make calls via the mobile network. Deutsche Telekom thus always offers a stable and reliable connection.”

Promotional pricing is available until September 30, 2025. Customers who sign up before this date receive routers and 5G receivers free for three months; after that period, they pay a reduced price of €7.95 per month for each device. Alternatively, devices can be purchased outright for €189.99 (router) or €359.99 (receiver). Existing customers with rented Speedport Smart 4 routers may switch to include the receiver package at any time.

For new customers, all hybrid plans cost €9.95 per month during their first three months regardless of tariff selection; regular DSL plan rates apply thereafter with no additional surcharge compared to comparable fixed-line tariffs.

Deutsche Telekom continues its investment strategy in expanding its networks across Germany each year.

“With Hybrid, the router automatically switches on the bandwidth of the mobile network if data could be transmitted faster than the landline allows.”

The MagentaZuhause Hybrid plans are available in various speed classes matching those offered under existing DSL plans.
