Deutsche Telekom has introduced a new service called Voice AI Notes, aimed at small and mid-sized businesses. The tool automatically summarizes business phone calls, eliminating the need for manual note-taking and documentation during conversations. This service is designed to help companies streamline their processes and increase productivity.

Voice AI Notes uses Mistral Small 3, a large language model developed by Mistral AI. The solution is hosted in European Union data centers within the Open Telekom Cloud, which is part of Deutsche Telekom’s T Cloud offering. According to the company, this ensures compliance with European data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). No conversation data is stored or used to train AI models; all content such as recordings, transcriptions, and summaries are deleted after they are created and delivered.

The service operates by recording phone calls, converting them into text, analyzing the content to separate speakers, extracting key points and action items, and creating calendar entries for scheduled appointments. After each call, a structured summary is sent via email. Voice AI Notes integrates with cloud PBX systems—cloud-based phone systems that allow businesses to run telephony over the internet instead of using physical equipment—and can be activated on demand through an app or keypad code after obtaining participant consent. An audible announcement notifies all parties when note-taking is active.

Klaus Werner, Director Business Customers at Telekom Deutschland GmbH said: “AI delivers value when it builds trust and truly relieves people. Voice AI Notes shows how small and mid-sized businesses can benefit from automation immediately – without hurdles and without compromising on data protection.”

The solution will be available for cloud PBX phone systems starting in mid-September 2025 at a cost of 1.95 Euro (net, excluding VAT) per phone number per month. Business customers can add the option through self-service in Telekom’s Business Service Portal.

Cloud PBX solutions like CompanyFlex Cloud PBX 2.0 enable features such as online meetings, video conferencing, chat, file sharing, and support up to 1,000 concurrent calls. Integration with MagentaEINS Business allows smartphones on CompanyFlex lines to function as full extensions of the system.

Deutsche Telekom positions Voice AI Notes as an EU-built alternative to U.S.-based services that meets privacy standards for European customers.

“AI delivers value when it builds trust and truly relieves people. Voice AI Notes shows how small and mid-sized businesses can benefit from automation immediately – without hurdles and without compromising on data protection,” said Klaus Werner.
