BeConfident, a Brazilian startup specializing in AI-driven education, has secured $15.8 million in Series A funding led by Prosus Ventures. The investment will be used to support the company’s international expansion into the United States, Europe, and Asia.

The company reports reaching 3 million users and 160,000 paying students through WhatsApp and its own app by the end of 2025. BeConfident projects a fivefold increase in revenue for 2026 as it continues to grow internationally.

Robson Amorim, CEO of BeConfident, stated: “In under two years, we’ve reached 3 million users, scaled to US$10 million+ in annual recurring revenue, and done so without burning venture capital — faster than leading global language-learning platforms. This investment is a decisive step in scaling internationally and positioning BeConfident as a global reference for AI-driven learning.”

BeConfident recently launched BeConfident Labs, a research unit focused on developing advanced AI models for personalized learning with collaborators from institutions such as Stanford University. The company is also working on creating conversational AI avatars that serve as adaptive tutors. This approach aims to combine language learning with skills-based education using the same conversational technology.

Rafael Barbalat, Investor at Prosus Ventures LatAm, commented: “We chose to invest in BeConfident because it combines proven scale with meaningful AI-driven educational innovation, backed by a founding team with rare technical depth and long-standing collaboration. Personal and life AI assistants will play a central role across the Prosus ecosystem and in how marketplaces are built and distributed globally. As a global investor, we see strong demand for scalable learning solutions worldwide, and our goal is to support BeConfident’s international expansion while consolidating Latin America as a hub for educational innovation with global reach.”

The online and offline language learning market is valued at $65 billion globally. Demand is highest in India, Latin America, and Europe—regions where nearly 70% of English learners reside. These areas are also key markets for Prosus Ventures’ operations.

Founded in 2023, BeConfident offers unlimited English practice through WhatsApp and its proprietary app. Users can access AI avatars around the clock for text, audio, and video conversations.
