SAP SE has announced that Amer Sports, a prominent group of sports and outdoor brands, is advancing its digital transformation by adopting the RISE with SAP initiative. This move includes transitioning the Arc’teryx brand to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, which aims to provide a scalable and modern digital infrastructure.

Amer Sports’ decision to shift from on-premises legacy systems was driven by the need for cost predictability through a subscription model, regular technological updates, and access to cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. Stefan Schubert, senior vice president and CIO of group IT at Amer Sports, stated, “SAP S/4HANA Cloud is the ideal entry point into our cloud enterprise resource planning era.”

With operations spanning over 40 countries and employing more than 13,000 people, Amer Sports is among the early adopters of this solution. The company has begun migrating its global system built on SAP ERP Central Component and is collaborating with SAP on several AI projects.

Additionally, Amer Sports is participating as a beta client for the SAP Business Data Cloud solution. This involvement allows them to provide feedback on this new software-as-a-service offering that integrates diverse SAP data with third-party sources.

Manos Raptopoulos, chief revenue officer for APAC, EMEA, and MEE at SAP commented on the partnership: “Operating in an industry where supply chain agility, data insights, security and business continuity are mission critical, we are proud to be partnering to provide these advanced capabilities.”
