Paris, 11 July 2025 – The French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) has signed an agreement with Airbus Defence and Space for the training of cybersecurity experts at the Ministry of the Armed Forces. This eight-year contract, which includes co-contractor Neverhack, will focus on developing training platforms and providing training services.
The initiative aims to equip the Cyber Defence Academy in Rennes with a new cyber defence training centre. The centre will offer specific courses for various cyber specialists, enhancing the operational readiness of cyber warriors. The program’s goal is to increase cybersecurity expertise and improve the armed forces’ defensive techniques.
These platforms will simulate attack-defence scenarios during military operations and large-scale exercises such as Orion or DefNet. Training will address a wide range of threats including malware attacks, data theft, and disinformation campaigns. Airbus plans to collaborate with start-ups and SMEs in artificial intelligence to adapt to emerging threats.
The platforms are designed to replicate military network environments comprehensively, including C4ISR systems. Each scenario will incorporate IT infrastructure and realistic simulations involving user activity.
Airbus Defence and Space has been using its CyberRange platforms for nearly a decade across ministries and companies in sensitive sectors for various trainings and events like ‘Passe ton Hack D’abord’. These platforms are also used in over 25 partner schools for cybersecurity education.
Furthermore, Airbus provides Security Operation Centres (SOCs) within France by the Ministry of the Armed Forces to secure information systems.
