Airbus has issued an update on the rollout of precautionary measures for its A320 Family aircraft. This follows an Alert Operators Transmission (AOT) published on November 28, which requested immediate action on certain in-service planes.
The company reported that out of about 6,000 potentially affected aircraft, most have already undergone the necessary modifications. Fewer than 100 planes are still awaiting changes before they can return to service. Airbus stated it is working closely with airline customers to complete these updates.
In a statement, Airbus expressed regret for the disruption caused: “Airbus apologises for any challenges and delays caused to passengers and airlines by this event. The Company thanks its customers, the authorities, its employees and all relevant stakeholders involved for their support in implementing these measures, and for their understanding of Airbus’ decision to put safety above all other considerations.”
